Just a note from Hanna IP to reassure our clients that all of your European patents, trade marks and designs will continue to be looked after by Hanna IP when the transition period of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU comes to an end on 31st December 2020.
In relation to your European patent rights, there is absolutely no change to the current European patent system whatsoever. For your EU trade mark registrations and registered Community designs, a corresponding UK trade mark and UK design right will be created for you by the UK Intellectual Property Office. This will ensure a continuity of the protection of your EU trade mark and design rights within the UK, in parallel with your existing EU trade marks and EU designs which will subsequently cover the 27 EU Member States.
